“Let your Waist be Girded (tucked in) and your Lamps Burning” – Luke 12:35

Jesus teaches his followers to be ready. To be ready for what? Better yet, to be ready for who?
As Christ Followers, knowing the fullness of the character of Christ is critical to being ready. Jesus can knock at the door of our life at any second. Do we know His voice and know His character to fully follow Him and His ways?
While we Christians are filled with anticipation for the glorious Second Coming of Christ, I’m not sure we are always fully anticipating the ‘Any-Second’ coming of Christ.
This site is about being ready for Jesus to show up at any moment and knowing it’s Him when He knocks on the door. To explore and come to know the full character of Christ – as Jesus later declares in Luke 12:49, to be ready to have our hearts set on fire.

Admittedly, I consider myself a permanent enrollee in the Bible School for Dummies. I have no formal theological or Bible training – no Christian higher education diplomas (no MDiv or PHD). My only training is through my love for God, listening for His voice and the study of His written word for almost 40 years. I read and study the Bible because I love to probe into it to look for answers to life’s questions and to come to know the author. At the same time I work to keep it simple, believing that if God is real, he will keep his promise as written in the book of Hebrews to reward those who diligently seek him. I use basic Bible study tools and occasionally rely on some trusted reference material.
And, at all times, I try to keep in mind Paul’s words to the Romans: “Do not be wise in your own opinion” (12:16). In other words, don’t think so highly of your own thoughts.
My formal ministry experience includes over 35 years serving in almost every capacity at a large Non-denominational, Evangelical Christian church located in Southwestern Connecticut. I started up their Prayer Ministry and served as its Director for three years and continue to serve in Prayer Ministry leadership. I also regularly serve on the Board of Elders and occasionally fill the pulpit at various church campuses. It was my study series on this topic that developed into the book, WHO IS THIS GUY, and what have you done with my sweet Savior?
BIOGRAPHY – I grew up in Fairfield County Connecticut in a large Catholic family. After graduating with degrees in Business and Finance from the University of Connecticut I took a job in Southern California. There, in 1979 I made the decision to follow Christ as my Savior at Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa. I returned home to Connecticut where I married my wife and cover artist, Eleni and we have enjoyed our family of three children. My business career experience includes over 30 years in Corporate Finance and Benefits.
While in College I was bitten by the writing bug and had written short pieces as a hobby over the years. Only more recently did I take early retirement from my corporate career to pursue ministry passions and to write novels/books.
My first three novels, the Stone Wall Freedom series, are based on the slave history of Block Island, RI set in the 1700s. These novels were self-published, and each novel received a Connecticut Press Club award for Best Fiction in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
I am ready to begin the effort to publish the next series, again based on the history of Block Island. These works bring to light the amazing Christian historical figures and events that led to the founding, in 1661 of what many consider to be the first true democracy in North America – Block Island.
As an author, my desire is to entertain through action, adventure, and surprise; to educate through fascinating historical figures and events brought to life; and to inspire through underlying, powerful Christian spiritual messages and themes. My books have been well received by Christian audiences but have a “seeker-friendly” appeal to a larger, secular audience, too.
